Kid Friendly

For an adult, the MRI process can be filled with stress and anxiety. When a child needs an MRI, the levels of stress and anxiety are compounded. No parent wants to watch as his or her child is sedated or see them crying out with fear. Thanks to new technology and advancements made within the MRI industry, children (from newborns to adolescents) now have a kid-friendly MRI option with Upright MRI of Deerfield!

It’s hard to believe, but our Upright MRI system allows children to be scanned WITH their parents. There’s never a need for sedation because younger children are positioned comfortably on a parent’s lap during the entire procedure! And, older children can have their parents sitting on a chair right next to them for the entire time.

To make things even more relaxed and enjoyable, kids can tune into their favorite TV show or watch movies as the scan takes place (a 42” plasma screen is directly in front of them!) We have a wide selection of movies from which to choose, but parents are welcome to bring their own.

We enjoy working with children and will do everything possible to ensure that their visit (and yours) is relaxed and carefree.
